For most buyers, the choice is between a used 150 Series Prado (model years up to 2023), which keeps the budget low, and the 250 Series sold in the UAE since 2024, which costs more but arrives almost new. Both export through the same paperwork, so the real decision is budget, fuel type and your country's import rules.

Prado generations you will find in Dubai#

Toyota lists the 2.4 litre turbo petrol (281 PS, 430 Nm) and the 2.8 litre turbo diesel among the 250 Series engines for the Middle East, and the Toyota UAE Prado page shows the local 2.4 litre range from the TXR to the VXR. About a quarter of the Prados we list are diesel, which helps buyers whose fleets already run on diesel.

Trim names change between years and dealers. Older GCC cars use TX, TXL, GXR and VXR, while the 250 Series adds GXL and Adventure grades. Always read the exact grade, engine size and fuel type on the listing rather than the badge alone.

Petrol or diesel for your destination#

Petrol Prados are the majority of the stock and the simplest choice for private buyers in Ghana, Nigeria and Côte d'Ivoire. The diesel 2.8 litre suits fleets that already run diesel trucks or work far from reliable fuel stations, and it is common in the 2024 and newer stock.

Steering and import rules by destination#

Most of our stock is left hand drive, which matches the West and Central African markets the Prado usually goes to. Check the age rule before you pick a model year, because an older Prado that is cheap in Dubai can be refused at your port.

How Toyota Prado export from Dubai works#

1. Choose and reserve. Pick the car and confirm grade, fuel, steering and VIN on the listing.
2. Inspect and pay. Check the VIN on the car against the paperwork before money moves.
3. Export paperwork. The registration is cancelled through the RTA export certificate and the customs export file is prepared.

5. Clear and collect. Your clearing agent files the import entry at Tema, Lagos or Abidjan and pays duty before release.

New 2026 Prado 2.4 litre models are priced from AED 199,900 for the TXR to AED 264,900 for the VXR on the Toyota UAE website. Export prices on our listings typically run from about USD 26,000 for an older used 150 Series to USD 79,000 for a new, well equipped 250 Series.

Which Prado is better, TXL or GXR?#

On older 150 Series cars, TXL and GXR often describe similar mid range grades sold under different names in different Gulf markets, so the badge alone does not settle it. Compare the listed engine, equipment and mileage, and ask us for photos of anything that matters to you.

Can I export a car from Dubai to Ghana?#
