• Steering side. GCC Land Cruisers are left hand drive. That suits West and Central Africa, but right hand drive markets such as Kenya will not register them, so confirm the steering rule first.

Fuel matters too. Diesel 70 Series units are the safer choice where petrol quality is uneven, while the 300 Series petrol V6 suits cities with good fuel and service networks.

Land Cruiser export from Dubai: checks before you pay#

1. VIN on every document. The chassis number must match the invoice, the export certificate and later the bill of lading.
2. Grade is what the listing claims. GXR and VXR look similar from outside; check the equipment list, not the badge.
3. Condition on used units. Look under the body for off road damage, test the four wheel drive and low range, and ask for the service history.
4. Clean export file. Fines cleared, UAE registration cancelled and the RTA export certificate issued before the car leaves for the port.
5. Customs exit. The export declaration is lodged with Dubai Customs, usually by the exporter or forwarder on your behalf.
